An “LGBTQIA+ friendly” “Spring Break Sex-Ed Camp” put on by Austin Public Health has been canceled after an advertisement posted to Instagram was met with angry and critical backlash, reports the Post Millennial.

@LibsofTikTok isn’t wrong. She’s doing the world a great service by keeping an eye open for this kind of insanity, and we here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website thank her for her diligence.

The camp, which purported to “use an evidence-based and LGBTQIA+ friendly curriculum used in schools across Travis County” was slated to pay the 13 to 18-year-old attendees $100 to learn about sex-ed. But do parents want their children being taught about sex-ed by people who don’t even understand there are only two genders? The Daily Wire notes the sign-up sheet for attendance asks for “preferred gender pronouns” and provides options for genders including “Transgender”, “Do not identify”, and “Prefer not to say”.

What worries me far more is how the camp “envisions a generation of liberated youth and young adults who are valued participants in achieving health equity” and is described as being designed to “increase their knowledge, skills, and attitudes about healthy relationships while becoming empowered to share this information with their peers.”

I can only imagine what they mean by liberating the youth who they see as valued participants in achieving health equity. Let that simmer for a moment. It sounds quite a bit like the people in charge of this camp went to one too many of this guy’s lectures.

I feel as if sex-ed has gone off the rails in the past few years.
