Listen to pop music in America, and at worst you get an eye roll depending on what you're listening to. Or how loudly you're playing it, despite the earbuds being directly in your ear. Practice ear-safety and politeness, you fools.

Listen to pop music under Sharia Law? You get dragged into the street and beheaded. You know, because the religion of peace.

According to Kurdish media reports, the jihadist group that has captured wide swaths of Syria and Iraq beheaded a 15-year-old boy in Mosul for the crime of listening to Western pop music.

Reports cite officials in the northern Iraqi city as saying that the boy, Ayham Hussein, was discovered by ISIS henchman as he was listening to a portable compact disc player.

Hussein was detained by ISIS operatives as he sat inside a shop owned by his father in an open-air market in western Mosul. The boy was beaten and tried in a local sharia court, which sentenced him to be executed.

“The boy was executed by beheading in a town square in the center of the city,” a source told Kurdish media.

Yes, obviously this is an extreme example (see Iran Slaps Prison Sentence on Woman…For Touching Lawyer’s Hand?! and Seattle Appeases Islam With… Sharia Compliant Mortgages?!), but still one to keep in mind when a majority of AMERICAN MUSLIMS even want Sharia Law.

Look, listening loudly to pop music, or any music, is super annoying. As I said at the opening, turn that crap down and enjoy it to yourself. No need to share your musical delights with the rest of the world. Headphones. Earbuds. Turn the volume DOWN! You young-whipper snappers are driving me crazy with that nonsense.

But despite how eye-twitchingly irritating I find morons who play their personal music too loud, I've never once thought "You know what would be a swell idea? Cutting off that dude's head."

Yanking off his ear? Maybe. Cutting off his head? That's taking things just a teeeeeeeensy bit too far. Just a tad.

Yet because Islam is the Religion of Peace (trademark pending), it only makes sense they would peacefully cut off his head for listening to music not from his native culture. Also, can anyone tell me what Islamic/Arabic/Persian/Syrian/Iranian music sounds like? Try describing it with feeling words.

Reminder, a majority of American Muslims want Sharia law. It might be how you'd like to solve Miley Cyrus or One Direction fandom, but I'm not sure it's the best way to go. Just bear it in mind next time a teen you know is playing music you find distasteful...
