Democrat congresswoman introduces bill criminalizing what she calls 'conspiracy to commit white supremacy'
Our old pal Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee recently introduced the "Leading Against White Supremacy Act of 2023." The bill would criminalize certain forms of hate speech, most notably, of course, "white supremacy."
“Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee has introduced a House Bill to criminalize “conspiracy to commit white supremacy,” which includes any criticism of non-white people that influences (such as something published or said online) someone who commits a hate crime. https://t.co/QD93bVJmA9”— Ian Miles Cheong (@Ian Miles Cheong) 1673820915
In case you need a refresher on Sheila, she's the broad who reportedly bumped a constituent from their first-class plane seat, then cried "rAcIsM" when the passenger complained.
And back in 2021, Sheila introduced H.R. 127, a crazy gun-grabbing bill that, among other things, mandated a public database of nationwide licensing for the possession of firearms and ammunition, a psychological evaluation, and an $800 annual gun insurance fee.
When promoting her bill, Sheila claimed to have held an AR-15, and it was as "heavy as 10 boxes." Boxes of what, we don't know. She's a woman of mystery. And idiocy.

Her most recent bill about white supremacy is extremely broad. A portion of the bill explains, "person engages in a white supremacy inspired hate crime when white supremacy ideology has motivated the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of actions that constituted a crime or were undertaken in furtherance of activity that, if effectuated, would have constituted a crime."
It also explains, "a conspiracy to engage in a white supremacy-inspired hate crime shall be determined to exist between two or more persons—at least one of whom engaged in the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of a white supremacy inspired hate crime" and "at least one of whom published material advancing white supremacy, white supremacist ideology, antagonism based on ‘replacement theory,’ or hate speech that vilifies or is otherwise directed against any non-White person or group, and such published material," if it was "read, heard, or viewed by a person who engaged in the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of a white supremacy inspired hate crime."
The bill, however, fails to define white supremacy. Of course.
