  • After Dulce Sloan from the “Daily Show” made a joke about colonization, Cleese called for reparations from the Greeks and French: “My people were slaves, too, you know. [People] get competitive about this business of being oppressed. We were oppressed [...] by the Romans for 400 [years] [...] and then the Normans came over in 1066 [...] they were horrible people from France [...] we need reparations there, too, I’m afraid.”
