Americans being in charge of their own lives via controlling their own healthcare is a nightmare to fascist leftists. Non-leftists have fought that push every step of the way. Mainly because the exorbitant costs and the sucky healthcare horror stories from other countries sound like a crap deal. That hasn't stopped leftists in California. They're pushing single-payer and they're pushing it hard. Even though the cost of the plan would be more than their entire state budget. Not making that up...

The price tag is in: It would cost $400 billion to remake California’s health insurance marketplace and create a publicly funded universal heath care system, according to a state financial analysis released Monday.

California would have to find an additional $200 billion per year, including in new tax revenues, to create a so-called “single-payer” system, the analysis by the Senate Appropriations Committee found. The estimate assumes the state would retain the existing $200 billion in local, state and federal funding it currently receives to offset the total $400 billion price tag.

The cost analysis is seen as the biggest hurdle to creating a universal system, proposed by Sens. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens, and Toni Atkins, D-San Diego.

File this under "not surprising in the slightest." Do you really think a complete lack of fundage is going to stop the left from questing for their free stuff?

The Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable. They promised us premiums would go down and you could keep your doctor. We got the opposite. Now, Californians want to completely hand the reins of healthcare to the left. In the pantheon of good ideas, that one ranks right up there with the all girl Ghostbusters remake. Only actual lives are at stake.

Any time a person speaks out against universal healthcare, they're promptly tarred, feathered, and blamed for every dead person to have ever died. Those holier-than-though leftists always fail to mention the people who would needlessly suffer under their mismanaged system. Tis all about "good intentions," don't you know. Isn't there an adage about roads paved with such things? Hmmm...

Raising taxes for bloated programs which help to grow government is what the left does best. In the end, the result will be the same as always. Broke people with crap healthcare. That is, if they're even lucky enough to get healthcare.
