Leftists Protest Election of Donald Trump by Screaming at the Clouds
For people who hate Donald Trump, the left seems determined to contribute to his 2020 re-election (see Rapper Macklemore Leads Chant of ‘F*ck Trump’ at Concert and Video: Seth Meyers Parrots Eminem. Tells his Trump-Supporting Fans to Get Bent…). In Boston, there's a Trump 2020 rally to celebrate the first anniversary of his election victory. Where leftists will gather at Boston Commons. And scream at the sky like banshees.
No, seriously:
Over 4,000 Facebook users have RSVP'd—another 33,000 are interested in attending—to the Nov. 8 event being held in Boston that is literally titled "Scream helplessly at the sky on the anniversary of the election."The event is pretty much self-explanatory. On the anniversary of last year’s election, thousands will flock to the Boston Common for a party fueled by despair and aggravation over the contest's winner—whom 73 million Americans voted against.
As far as we know, at the writing of this post, the event is not satirical. Despite it sounding as though it's been ripped right from The Onion.
"This administration has attacked everything about what it means to be American," Johanna Schulman, a local activist in Cambridge who is working on organizing the event, told Newsweek Friday. "Who wouldn't feel helpless every day? Coming together reminds us that we are not alone, that we are part of an enormous community of activists who are motivated and angry, whose actions can make a difference."
Now, one of the organizers has posted on the Facebook page that the event is cancelled. Whether it was cancelled after conservatives mocked it for its symbolism, or it's a ruse to get people to take a poll, I'm not sure. Either way, funnyAF.
I just hope there are plenty of unironic videos of the event if it actually happens. We could all use a good laugh. At the expense of suffering twits who solve problems by mindlessly screaming at the sky. A tactic to remember the next time you're passed over for that promotion. Go outside. Stomp. Scream at the sky like a toddler denied a Coke. Claim liberalism.
Now let's get serious:
