Leftists hate to let facts get in the way of a good story. Does UVA ring a bell? Since the truth doesn't score high marks in leftist circles, progressives will often dispense with fact checking altogether. Why deal with facts when you can just call the opposition a bunch of transphobic racist fart sniffers? As a result, a lot of fake stories get published. Incidentally, mainstream media is all concerned about "fake news" and has been "cracking down" on it. Bear that in mind, okay? Because Matt Christiansen, aka Skagg 3, has an interesting little story...

Popular YouTuber Matt Christiansen decided to test how much scrutiny journalists apply to reports of hate crimes after he saw a tweet by a Mic.com writer requesting stories of Trump-inspired attacks on people of color, Muslims or LGBTQ people.

The writer, Sarah Harvard, Tweeted: “If you’re a person of color, Muslim, and/or LGBTQ, and have been attacked by a Trump supporter. DM/email me.”

Christiansen...then asked a friend to write a fictitious story about a white man who threatened a Native American woman after mistaking her for a Mexican. In the story, the man then justified his aggressiveness by saying “white is right.” They emailed the story to Harvard, using a fake name and email with the subject line “aggressive Trump supporter.”

Within hours of this email, Harvard posted the story on her Twitter account, without asking any additional questions about the story to verify its authenticity.

Looks like Ms. Harvard is about as much a journalist as Dr. Pepper is a medicine man. But that's what happens when leftists spend all their time at college protesting the American flag on campus. Instead of, you know, opening an over-priced book, reading, and learning something semi-useful.

Or maybe checking out your source. Basic journalistic stuff.

Also, what happened to all the outrage about so-called fake news? I'm no expert, but I'd say this kind of thing qualifies. What with it being as real as Kim Kardashian's double-wide backside. Spoiler alert: the "outrage" about fake news wasn't actually about fake news so much as it was about shutting out alternative news. Conservatives. It was about weeding out conservatives.

Progressive types don't care if a story is true or not. See also "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan," and "Hillary Clinton has a 98% chance of winning the presidency" thank you, HuffPo. All that matters to leftist media is the narrative. Specifically their narrative. Have a sensational rape story which involves an alleged "Trump Supporter"? Leftist writers will pounce on it like Tess Holiday bowls over skinny women to snag a Krispy Kreme. Hey, the glazed ones are delightful. But have something semi-positive to say about a Republican?

So yes to soup, because sarcasm?

Matt Christiansen. You have helped pull back that curtain of leftist bias and dishonesty even further. Cheers to you, sir. Even if larger media outlets ignore it.
