Joy Reid claims Missouri is a "slave state," but not for the reason you're thinking

Slavery is the literal ownership of a person, usually conducted by exploiting the fruits of their forced labor. Abortion is the killing of an unborn child. Can someone let Joy Reid know that?
Reid called Missouri a “slave state” because of its abortion laws, and said that women are the “property” of their husbands because officials are now going after “no-fault divorce.”
NEW: MSNBC’s Joy Reid calls Missouri a “slave state” and says that pregnant women are the “property” of their husbands and the state
“You’ve left off, Claire, that in your state it’s illegal for a pregnant woman to get an abortion, so they’ve also gone after no-fault divorce,”… pic.twitter.com/Q3E1vhdWzl

“If you’re pregnant and you’re in a marriage with an abusive spouse, you can’t even get a divorce once you get pregnant. You become the property of both your husband and the state. They have joint ownership of you in the state of Missouri. That is a slave state as far as I’m concerned.”
Firstly, I don’t think abuse falls into the category of no-fault divorce. I am pretty sure that would make someone at fault. So a woman would likely be able to get a divorce if she is being abused. Secondly, I am having a hard time seeing how she can argue that the state has de facto ownership over someone because there are laws prohibiting the killing of an unborn child.
The argument actually works better the other way around. Abortion proponents like Reid claim this is all about “women’s rights” and “their bodies,” even though it’s not their bodies. But leftists act as if women have “ownership” over unborn children even though it's not their body and should never be their choice.
It's the left that argues unborn children are unworthy of intrinsic value. It's people like Reid who believe they don't deserve human rights.
They believe that so much that they glorify and celebrate it.
Abortion is not a human right, life is a human right and Reid thinks women should have a right to destroy that. She thinks that just because a child has not passed the birth canal, that means they are unworthy of human rights. She doesn't even see babies as properties, that's how worthless they are to her.
Reid is the literal worst and it's incredibly deranged that she can argue such a reprehensible take. But what else is new?
