Most of the attention on SNL this past weekend was over Bill Burr pissing off all the right people. But there was another sketch that got more than a few hearty guffaws out of me. It makes fun of those horrible celebrity political videos, where they look at the camera to show how super serious they are over whatever issue their PR person told them to be super serious about and that for some reason, shooting in black and white makes them look super seriouser (see CELEBRITIES DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION MAKE CRINGEY MONTAGE ABOUT RACISM IN AMERICA and IF YOU WEREN'T SICK BEFORE, HERE'S A MONTAGE OF CELEBRITIES SINGING 'IMAGINE'). Half the time, you don't even know who these celebrities are because we as a society have managed to dumb down the idea of "celebrity."

Now, anyone with a few thousand fans on Twitch is considered a "celeb." As SNL makes fun of here, where one of them is hoping landing a spot in an anti-Trump ad will help his career.

I'm not sure if this guy would be considered an "internet personality" or an "influencer." Also, I'm not sure I care to know the difference. Though influencers seem more inclined to just show off their heinies in bikini bottoms or yoga pants. This guy, if he were real, would probably just be a loser who is trying too hard.

Albeit a loser whose videos are monetized and who has more Twitter followers than me. So I'm not one to judge.
