Somalian Cop Shoots White Woman... Leftists Cry Islamophobia?!
Following the police shooting of an unarmed woman, one could smell BLM outrage baking in the dimly lit chest cavities of SJWs (see Thanks BLM: Severely Beaten Cop Didn’t Use Gun on Attacker. For Fear of Backlash… and Philadelphia: Man Ambushes Police, Tries to Kill Black Cop. #BLM Silent…). Until they found out the woman was a white Australian. Plans to run with this story to further malign cops were squashed upon hearing the cop was Somalian. Media's narrative gears switched faster than a male tranny in a woman's race.
Because now what's worrisome to the left is Islamophobia. Behold this heartwarming tale from the Washington Post:
When Mohamed Noor joined the Minneapolis police force and was assigned to patrol the city’s southwest corner, the Somali community there — the nation’s largest — threw a party for him to celebrate.
No joke, this is how the article started. See, it's important because Noor was a pioneer for his community. Remember all the stories about the cop who shot Michael Brown, harrowing him as a hometown hero? Me neither. You're a racist for even agreeing with me.
Now that same Somali community is bracing for a backlash against Noor that has already begun.
Ergo we shouldn't investigate this cop at all. The community repercussions are TOO MUCH. If you think this cop should be investigated, you're a hateful racist who wants kids to die. Shame.
The report stoked fear among Somalis in the Twin Cities, who have worked for decades to become part of the city’s fabric. There are now Somalis on the police force, the city council and in the Minnesota House of Representatives. But the largely Muslim population of Somali Americans in the region still face Islamophobia and innuendo about terrorism.
That's probably because terrorism typically falls into the Islamic category. As much as we like to tease the Methodists, they're not prone to self-explosion. But give them some time. Maybe after all those potlucks, they'll get around to stuffing vests with ball bearings and C4. Pin a Jesus fish on them.
Mohamud Noor, who is not related to the officer, is also a city council candidate. He and others in the Somali community have protested other police shootings in the region along with Black Lives Matter, but this one “changes the narrative,” he said. Usually, they are protesting the death of black men at the hands of police, he said. Now it is a white woman reportedly shot by a black officer.
There it is, a self-admission that police violence only matters to the left if it fits their narrative. If it doesn't then:
Look, it matters to know details about what happened in each of these cop-shooting cases. Always. But it's interesting to me that the media is worried about the backlash against a cop due to his association with the Muslim community. This comes after a few years of the media rushing to judge police officers across the country for the action of a fraction of officers who headlined cases Black Lives Matter decided to be problematic.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
Suddenly the media is concerned with "Guilt by association." Where was the media when BlackLivesMatter called for the death of all cops because of the actions of a few cops? Read also OPINION: This is What Happens when You Malign Cops.
The Somali community is no more to blame for Noor's actions as all cops were to blame for Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, and all the other cases Black Lives Matter held aloft. It seems the media only cares in selected circumstances, though, no?
