South Park Does Uproarious Episode on Donald Trump!
TRIGGER WARNING: may be offensive to die-hard Trump supporters who can't take a friendly joke.
So, we kind think Donald Trump may have a thing or two to say about South Park today. Well, maybe not say as much as have a quip or two to tweet. But regardless of where you line up politically, the episode was hilarious, and served its purpose.
There aren't many clips we can play here, but we found one...
There were several candidates during the Canadian elections. One of them was this brash @$$hole who just spoke his mind. He didn't really offer any solutions, he just said outrageous things. We thought it was funny. Nobody ever thought he would be President. It was a joke! But we just let the joke go one for too long. He just kept gaining momentum, and by the time we said 'Ok, let's get serious now, who should really be President?" he was already being sworn into office. We weren't paying attention. WE WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION!
Granted, the episode goes way off the rails in a way that will no doubt offend not only Trump supporters, but fans of common decency. So I'm not endorsing the whole schtick. Okay? Okay.
That being said, this is nothing new. It's WHAT South Park does. It'll be interesting to see how Donald Trump reacts, because people who criticize South Park generally come out of it pretty bruised up. There's no sense in fighting windmills.
We've only ever seen Donald Trump offer both personal compliments and personal insults. You're either a "loser" (Megyn Kelly, Rand Paul, FoxNews) or a "very nice guy who I'll never say anything bad about" (Kanye West). We've not yet seen Donald Trump be capable of a compliment on a purely professional level, while maintaining his personal differences.
That's what would be required here. That's the brilliance of South Park. They've picked up on his behavioral ticks, no doubt. The only way Donald Trump gets out of this without looking silly is with something like this...
"While of course I think South Park is on the wrong side of the immigration issue, the episode was funny and I have the utmost respect for those guys as comedians. Hats off to them."
Let's see if he does...
