Bailing out students who took out loads of loans to "earn" useless degrees is one of progressivism's soggiest dreams. They took out insane loans to get degrees that would never lead to jobs providing them the means with which they could never possibly hope to pay back the loans. Now, those upper-middle-class leftists want the government to pay off their loans, passing the costs of their idiotic decisions to middle-class Americans who made smart decisions. The Biden White House is floating an idea to pay off $10,000 and is being excoriated by their base who says it's "not enough." It sounds like political suicide but makes more sense when you hear the White House is being advised by Stacey Abrams.

The National Review relays a conversation between a Never Trumper from The Bulwark and a Washington Post reporter. So, it's a conversation between a Never Trumper and a Biden supporter.

The Never Trumper echoes what was said on Bill Maher's show. The ultra-radical woke leftists who control this president and most of the Democratic Party are insistent on policies designed to piss off the middle-class. The Never Trumper points to the prevailing activist attitude which says, "This is a betrayal. Only $10,000? I have $50,000 in college debt. If the Democrats are only going to forgive $10,000, well, then I’m not going to vote for them."

The WaPo reporter then shared what he's been hearing from the White House. These two notes stand out.

1. As incompetent as the White House may be, even they "privately understand" a student loan bailout "is a complete disaster for them."

2. They are being advised/brow beaten on the matter by failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Abrams is yet again running for Georgia governor and can only win if the White House pays off student loans. Abrams feels she can't win if the base doesn't turn out (which is true) and that the base won't turn if all their debt isn't paid off (which is insane).

It's the woke activists who control Biden's decisions. Woke activists and Biden aides whose combined student loan debt totals FOUR MILLION DOLLARS. Also, I'm guessing, woke activists like social media influencer Rep. AOC--who has already attacked Biden's plan for not going far enough.

Biden's plan would only pay off $10,000 in student loan debt for people who make less than $150,000 per year. Rep. AOC and her "Squad" colleagues are all advocates of student loan forgiveness AND want the government to pay off their student loans. But they all make more than $150,000 a year.

So, when Joe Biden announces his plan to forgive so many dollars in student loan debt (which he will because he does what the people who run him tell him to do) and critics say he's buying votes, we're quoting Stacey Abramas. That's what she's advising him to do.
