There seems to be a new trend with liberals to change the gender, race, or sexuality of comic book characters, because... equality. They gave Thor boobs and debuted her on "The View" in an attempt to appease the "equality" gods. I don't know about 'equality', but I certainly enjoyed the 'additions.' They made Iceman gay, claiming it was a bold move...even though Northstar came out of the closet in the 90s and even got married a few years ago. Most recently, they are making Spider-Man a Latino.

Actually, an alternative universe version of him was already Latino, but after a big comic book event (which is code word for "nobody is buying us, so let's try a big marketing stunt"), they announced that latino Spider-man is going to be the main Spider-Man, with Peter Parker as his mentor. There are also rumors that this new Spiderman could be gay. No word yet on his legal status.

Of course, with liberals being liberals, if you disagree with them doing this or act like it's dumb, it could only be due to the fact that you're a racist, sexist homophobe. Which makes you wonder what they now think about this reasonable response from Stan Lee, the man who INVENTED Spider-Man...

Here's the thing, at the end of the day, what private companies do with their intellectual properties is their decision and your opinion doesn't matter. The only thing that makes it obnoxious is when a) they act like these cheap publicity stunts and marketing decisions are anything more than cheap publicity stunt and marketing decisions, and b) you're expected to celebrate these cheap publicity stunts and marketing decisions lest you be "bothered" by leftists and SJWs.

Making the Human Torch an African-American in the movies isn't a bold decision or a brave decision, it's a bunch of Hollywood executives sitting around a table saying "one of them has to be urban" decision.
