When conservatives are upset about something, it usually revolves around terrorism or the amount of money the government takes from people. Leftists? They get upset by words that make them feel bad about themselves. You know, like the phrase "start a family." Why?

It's triggering or something...

In a piece published Thursday morning, OSullivan argues that the phrase “start a family” is “loathsome” because of its implication: children. “What this euphemism means is get pregnant — or try to get pregnant, or have a baby, or adopt,” Sullivan claims. And that’s offensive.

“Start a family devalues any couple who doesn’t happen to have kids, for whatever reason. It even sells single people short, who may not have children but do have ‘chosen’ families of friends,” he argues.

O’Sullivan also points out that the phrase has “heterosexist” roots. He notes that LGBT people now use the phrase as well (implying it might not be “heterosexist” to say “start a family”) but he still hears it “more often from straight people.”

Ah, of course. It's placewordhere-ist. Because this wasn't a ridiculous argument otherwise. And even though by the author's own admission, gay people are using the phrase and starting families themselves... too many straight people say it, so that means it's wrong. And bad. And... too many straight people say it.

I have a better idea. How about owning your life decisions, and not throwing tantrums when other people own theirs? Seriously. Most single people, when they hear people talking about starting a family, just shrug their shoulders and wonder what bar they're going to go to that night. They don't whine about it via think pieces. They don't feel devalued, unless they have severe emotional problems in the first place.

This is the liberal solution to everything. I don't want to feel bad for my life choices, so I'm going to make you feel bad for yours.

It's for this same reason that they hate traditional marriage and wealthy business-owners, while they champion fat pride and feminism (both of which lead to significantly more depressed, unhappy lives). One of leftism's greatest ironies: demanding "happiness" as a mandated, human right, while abandoning means which would ensure their own happiness.

You have the right to pursue happiness. Regressive leftists refuse to. Instead, they want the government to mandate happiness. But only happiness as they envision it. If it's too much happiness, it much be stolen. No, it can't be redistributed, because leftists will never be happy anyway. But at least, at the end of it, you'll all be as equally miserable as the LGBTQAAIP (silent F) feminists.

These people look like the beacon of "happiness" to you?
