Socialism isn't pretty. In fact, it's about as far from pretty as one gets. On a scale of one to Lena Dunham, socialism rivals the likes of the she-beast herself. Lately Venezuela is the perfect, shining example of socialism in action. Their people are starving to death, the government is raiding bakeries, and even seizing motor plants.

Now Venezuelans have gotten so hungry they're slicing and dicing their own pets to sate their tummy rumbles. Run, Fido!

The food crisis in Venezuela has forced the population to butcher their pet dogs for meat, opposition party leaders claim.

Photos released this weekend show two men in the capital Caracas skinning and cutting up a dog in the street, allegedly in order to get something to eat.

The chaotic collapse of the country's socialist economic model has created chronic food shortages ... Two thirds of families say they cannot afford meat, eggs or margarine. A third of families said they were resorting to emergency strategies such as eating from bins, having their children beg for food or selling essential items in their home.

Last month, a zoo in the city of Maracaibo near the Colombian border reported that animals were being stolen by the starving local population.

This is the face of a desperate nation ravaged by socialism. Yes, as in the very same "caring" socialism leftists claim will solve poverty and level the playing field for everyone. Not so. The only equality socialism brings is equal suckage and starvation, just ask Venezuela. Their people have been robbed of any and all freedoms (see GUN CONTROL: Venezuela Confiscates Civilian Guns. ARMS Socialist Regime...), besides the freedom to wither away and die. Still, western leftists turn a blind eye to these atrocities and continue their delirious worship of socialism.

This is the promise Bernie Sanders campaigned on and won the hearts of American youngsters with. This is what colleges are currently singing praises about as they fight capitalism tooth and nail. All the while they benefit from capitalism while Venezuelans die from socialism.
