BREAKING: Georgia Election System Was Cyber-Attacked... By Obama's Homeland Security?!
Remember all the "rigged election" squabble? There was talk of hacking, voter fraud, you name it. Some of which turned out to be true, it just fell on the side visually represented by an ass. See also Uh Oh: Jill Stein's Michigan Recount Finds Voter Fraud... by Democrats!. On the subject of hacking, we've horror stories aplenty about Russian cyber attacks on the US. Again, courtesy of the left (see Josh Earnest's Obvious Russian Hack Hypocrisy). Incidentally, this is why we say the left is guilty of projection.
Anyhoo, as it turns out, all the talking heads who said there was hacking? Well, according to The Daily Caller, there were a few cyber attacks on Georgia's systems... Not by Assange's Binary Bandits hired by Putin, so much, but by Homeland Security. Small detail.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials tried to hack Indiana's state electoral system with at least 14,800 "scans" or hits between Nov. 1, 2016 to Dec. 16, 2016... The attacks are the second confirmed IT scanning assault by DHS officials against states that resisted then-President Barack Obama's attempt to increase federal involvement in state and local election systems...The same DHS unit attempted 10 times in 2016 to hack into the Georgie electoral system. Federal officials are barred under DHS rules from trying to penetrate a state system without the express approval of the state. Neither Georgia nor Indiana approved the DHS scanning attempts.
Indiana officials have not yet asked the DHS IG to look at their state's situation. "We're taking the matter under consideration, [Secretary of State] Lawson said, adding that "we have sent letters to our congressional folks, our governor, and others to make them aware this happened. I'm very concerned, very concerned."
To hear the left tell it, the biggest cyber threat during that exact time was not Homeland Security. DNC leak? Blame the Russians. Power outage? Blame the Russians. Election gone awry? Meddling Ruskies!
Meanwhile, this digital foray was going on under the Obama Administration's ticking clock bomb. Real cyber attacks, real violations of state rights. Thanks Obama. It appears the federal government tried to toss the states' desires aside for its own gain. All while Pence was still governor, by the way. Of course, this isn't the first time the Obama Administration has engaged in chicanery (see Obama Pushes Last-Minute Rule FORCING States to Fund Planned Parenthood). So be not surprised.
While the alleged "Russia-Trump alliance" is plastered all over the media, more information on these hackings comes to light. Of which we'll keep you apprised. The irony here? Imagine if this happened while Trump, not Obama, was President and it was California, not Georgia, which was hacked. Accusations would fly faster than a third helping of pasta into Tess Holliday's gaping cryhole. If this very same act was committed by anybody other than Obama-era officials, we'd see constant coverage of it on the mainstream media. Alas, this time? Meh. It was only Mike Pence's state!
Sounds a bit like, dare I say it... A steaming pile of noxious hypocrisy.
