While other sports teams are tripping over themselves to virtue-signal, Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers actually send a strong message. It could be that Tomlin already has experience trying to appease the left and the media (see STEELERS COACH DISSES PLAYER WHO SALUTED THE NATIONAL ANTHEM... and STEELERS COACH MIKE TOMLIN HAS HAD ENOUGH: JUST LET US PLAY BALL). But mostly, I think it was from the heart. I don't expect professional sports teams to not address the turmoil that is America in 2020. I would however like more of them to address it like this.

Beyond being football men, first and foremost we're husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, uncles, members of the community. And we wanted to pause and share with those that are hurting tonight that we see you, that we hear you, but most importantly, we stand with you. Now we take a moment to come together in the middle of the field as a group of men and pray for betterment.

Notice how they didn't blame or try to play one group against the other. He also included the suffering caused by COVID and the government-mandated lockdowns, because 2020 has been one festering pile of upcycled fecal matter. They stood together, men of all backgrounds (yes, he made it a point to say men) to send a message that we are all in this together and will get through this by standing together. How you define "this" is up to you, and I'm sure some of the men on the field will define it differently that you or I do. That's okay. Out of many, one, and all that jazz.

It's just nice to see a professional sports team try to unite instead of divide.
