Steve Harvey Delivers Powerful Speech on God and Hard Work...
We touched on Christian principles yesterday in our Chris Pratt post, discussing entertainers who are Christian reaching more people than "Christian entertainers." There's a distinction and it's an important one to make.
Take Steve Harvey for example.
I think most people know him from the "Family Feud," namely when clips from the show go viral on YouTube. Side note, his clips are also entertaining and hysterical. Both those things help.
Now a new clip is going viral, this one of Steve Harvey taking his audience on a different show "to church..."
The dream is free...the hustle is sold separately. And that's so true. You can never give up. You never know where God is waiting on you to pass the test, but you have to go with something and go through the test to get to the end. If you quit, there's no way you'll ever know. You have to keep putting one foot in front of the other even if you don't know the way. It's not your job to know the way. It's just your job to believe. That's where people mess up as people. They try to figure it out. Show me the Scripture that tells you to figure it out. There's no Scripture that tells you to figure it out. It tells you to ask and believe."
Amen.
This is yet another example where, regardless of how he votes, Steve Harvey is conservative. He just may not know it yet. This speech is riddled with messages of personal responsibility, faith, accountability and independence, all corner-stones of the conservative movement.
He honestly crystallized the conservative message here better than many "republicans" holding office. Plus his suits are pure pimp, and I dig it.
