The Kansas City Chiefs aren't the only ones going back-to-back at the Super Bowl this year. While Taylor Swift and Lane Kendall's favorite team is playing in their second big game in a row, Joe Biden is running away from the media by turning down his second Super Bowl interview. And James Carville says doing so is a huge warning sign of how little trust Biden's handlers have for him.

Carville explained in a CNN interview how bad this looks for an already diminishing president.

"It’s the biggest television audience, not even close, and you get a chance to do a 20-, 25-minute interview on that day," Carville began.

"And you don’t do it? That’s a kind of sign that the staff or yourself doesn’t have much confidence in you," Carville continued. "There’s no other way to read this."

The interview happened a day after Biden's latest public disaster, another that shows why his staff doesn't have much confidence in him.

The presidential Super Bowl interview is a stupid "tradition" started by Barack Obama as part of his "paparazzi presidency." When Obama and his allies weren't calling you a racist for having any opposing viewpoint from them on any issue ever, they were politicizing every aspect of your life within an inch of it. That included an annual media tongue bath during the Super Bowl pregame festivities (the Fox years being obvious exceptions). Heaven forbid Americans be staring at a television without having politics shoved down their throats.

Donald Trump kept up the tradition just for funsies (except in 2018). Then came Joe Biden. He first turned down an interview last year because it would have been on Fox News, and he risked doing a sitdown with Peter Doocy or Bill Melugin. But I get that. Sitting a deteriorating Biden down with reporters that the press shop doesn't control would be bad politics.

Not sure why they are afraid of a much more loyal CBS News. The last time Biden was interviewed by CBS, it was what critics called an embarrassing trainwreck. That may have played into the calculation to skip the interview next Sunday.

Biden did sit down with NBC in 2022, where he tripled down on his unpopular school mask mandates, saying his opinion on the matter was whatever the CDC told him his opinion was. The rest of the interview managed to get worse.

Biden's brain was only 50.1% tapioca pudding two years ago. In 2024, it's closer to 69%. It's almost amusing the White House is so afraid of Biden speaking in public; they are even afraid of softball questions about whether Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will get engaged.

Then you remember he is the same man with access to the nuclear codes. Carville is on to something.
