Gather round, fellow paranoid gun rights supporters. Leftists claim they don't want to strip us of our Second Amendment rights. Saying we're absolutely bonkers for assuming so. No, according to the left, gun owners worried about their Second Amendment rights are a mere baby-step away from being full-on schizo.

Keep that in mind as they gleefully share this OpEd. From The New York Times. Written by John Paul Stevens, a former Supreme Court Justice. Arguing straight-up it's time to repeal the Second Amendment.

In 2008, the Supreme Court overturned Chief Justice Burger’s and others’ long-settled understanding of the Second Amendment’s limited reach by ruling, in District of Columbia v. Heller, that there was an individual right to bear arms. I was among the four dissenters.

Overturning that decision via a constitutional amendment to get rid of the Second Amendment would be simple and would do more to weaken the N.R.A.’s ability to stymie legislative debate and block constructive gun control legislation than any other available option.

That simple but dramatic action would move Saturday’s marchers closer to their objective than any other possible reform. It would eliminate the only legal rule that protects sellers of firearms in the United States — unlike every other market in the world. It would make our schoolchildren safer than they have been since 2008 and honor the memories of the many, indeed far too many, victims of recent gun violence.

I'm actually not even mad. We knew all along this was the left's intention. Progressives don't just want our bump stocks, 30-magazine "clips" or scary black African American rifles of color. They want the whole shebang. Even those 18th Century muskets they're always rambling about. Since their extreme views are right out in the open, it'll be much easier to issue them a rhetorical beatdown.

Let's first note Justice Steven's issued this OpEd via The New York Times. Which has adapted itself to the internet. Reaching millions more people than had it been limited to just print. The internet was not available when the First Amendment was written. Did the Founders intend the First Amendment be used for high capacity information spreading? Asking for a friend.

Leftists want to take an eraser to the Bill of Rights. Removing all that they find displeasing. Then labeling the NRA "extremists" for insisting those Bill of Rights be protected. Yet Wayne LaPierre isn't advocating for private ownership of ICBMs, Tomahawk missiles, or even machine guns. His NRA is insisting Americans maintain their rights to "keep and bear arms." Compare the NRA's "extremism" to leftists like Stevens, who once sat at the highest legal level in the land. Leftists like Stevens believe Americans should defend themselves with hashtags. Positive feelings. Or by calling the police. Which, depending on the day, are either corrupt racists, cowards, or heroes.

No right to self-preservation. At all. Who are the real extremists again?

There's nothing moderate about gun-hating fools. No room for compromise. They won't stop until they snatch all the guns from our hands. To melt them down as rebar for new Planned Parenthood clinics. For "the children."

Extremist views, like those of this Supreme Court justice, are why pro-gun Americans refuse to give even an inch. You're not paranoid.
