Thank goodness I live in Real America where it is still safe to eat a Cheesy Gordita Crunch without fear of getting mugged or murderized. That is not the case in Oakland, where Taco Bell announced it is shutting down all their dining rooms. Violence has gotten so out of hand, it is unsafe for them to conduct business there.

The Bell, citing the ability to provide a safe environment for team members and customers as a priority, made the decision to close dining rooms and no longer accept cash at the drive-thru. Carjackers will leave your toddler in the middle of a busy intersection if they forget to check the back seat before jacking said car. And it's not safe to eat out when you have that all-too-familiar taco craving.

Residents are pissed, though not enough to change their voting or personal behavior. There is, however, one guy who gets it.

Not that Oakland was ever that safe of a city. All of their sports teams couldn't and/or can't wait to get out. But over the pat few years, due to progressive voters electing progressive politicians to enact progressive policies, what is happening in Oakland is similar to what's happening in progressive cities all across America. The voters need to want change. When 90% have been reelecting the same congress member over and over again for twenty-five years, Okaland voters must not.
