The Tampa Police Department is showing off its new pride badge, which is intended to show they "are allies," as well as being a "symbol of safety for those who might be hesitant to interact with the police."

"Incorporating the Progress Pride Flag designed in 2018, this badge is one of nine that members can choose to collect or wear during the month of June. The badge serves as a conversation starter and a symbol of safety for those that are hesitant to interact with police," the department wrote in a Facebook post. “We're here to listen, learn, and ensure all members of our community feel included, safe, and respected.”
Wow. It turns out that all it takes for someone to overcome their irrational fear of the police is rainbows and butterflies. Who would have thought?
Question: What if an officer wants to wear an American flag instead of a pride flag? Does the department provide that as one of the nine options? What about the Christian flag? Or do we only have the option of one dedicated to deranged, sexual preferences that have nothing to do with public safety?
How is the badge “ a symbol of safety?” What has the Rainbow Mob done to promote safety? And why does the police department need to talk about that? Don’t they have better things to do than discuss other people’s sexual preferences?
Also, it’s not just the pride flag, it's the “progress pride flag,” which is the left’s newest thing of being extra, extra exclusive. So how does it represent “all members of the community” when it’s literally pandering to the most insignificant percentage of the population?
Is it really too much to ask that the police department stay out of politics and do their job? Because they are pandering to fewer people than they realize and it’s super cringe. It also does the opposite of what they intended to do with their fake “conversation starter” badge that was supposedly meant to “ensure all members of [the] community feel included, safe, and respected.”
Anyway, any chance officers will be getting a MAGA badge sometime soon?
