County candidate throws a tarantula at an alleged squatter, THEN things get super weird

If given the option, many people would choose to live with a tarantula rather than a squatter. This story may or may not be about one of those people. However, things did get pretty wild after a turn of events.
A Hennepin County Board candidate was arrested after an alleged "squatter" accused her of throwing a tarantula at her.
Marisa Simonetti claims she is the only "Conservative" candidate but she may be confusing "conservative" with "unhinged." Unclear at this point. However, she alleges she allowed a woman to sublease a room in the residence she is renting but had to take matters into her own hands after the “squatter” refused to vacate the property.
However, the story is a bit more unhinged than that.
I talked to Hennepin County Board candidate Marisa Simonetti after she was released from jail this morning on a 5th Degree assault charge. She says the alleged victim is a female squatter who won’t leave @M_Simonetti28’s basement at her Edina home. Story at 6:30 @kare11 Breaking… pic.twitter.com/LLOUUMAaOH

According to the New York Post:
The web-tangling crime allegedly unfolded when the housemate, local attorney Jackie Vasquez, called 911 to report that Simonetti was trespassing in her section of the property.
When cops arrived, the alleged victim told them Simonetti — who is running as a Hennepin County Board candidate — had thrown the spider and other pieces of junk at her during a rental dispute.
Footage posted on social media showed Simonetti dumping the tarantula out of a container on a set of stairs inside the home.
According to reports, Simonetti's real estate license was revoked for fraudulent practices, so it does not sound like she would be the best landlord to begin with.
In the video, she admits to purchasing the spider for the sole purpose of assaulting the “squatter” with it. However, even though it’s just an arthropod, that does not mean I condone this behavior, as the little guy was just an innocent third party. Fortunately, the tarantula is okay.
Michael Charles Held, 69, of St. Louis Park was also charged with assault-5, cited and released by police. pic.twitter.com/7o7vcAb872

It is unclear who that guy is....
Simonetti, for her part, has claimed the fight erupted when she accused Vasquez of being a squatter.
“Perhaps I should have invited her up for tea and crumpets,” Simonetti told the outlet about the fight.
That would have been a bit less unhinged. However, it’s not her property so it’s unclear if she even had permission to sublease the place. Simonetti also has a weird past it’s unclear what is going on.
And the ex-boyfriend also said Marisa Simonetti created a Grindr account in his name, chatted with people while pretending to be him, then men started arriving at his door and family members' doors expecting to hook up. pic.twitter.com/RQgHaqrJnk

Despite the spider saga, Simonetti said she still has every intention of running for Hennepin County commissioner.
“I’m good at creatively solving problems, and at the end of the day, I didn’t physically harm anybody,” she said.
“I’m a little unconventional in my ways — sometimes. I mean, I’m a silly goose.”
The video was much more than her being a "silly goose." She was acting like a lunatic and her behavior was extremely bizarre.
Regarding the criminal charge of credit card fraud that was dismissed, Simonetti she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement as part of their civil settlement.

What is going on?
She also has stalking and harassment charges against her from her kid's fathers.

This got super weird.
At first, you were probably on the side of the tarantula thrower, as no one likes a "squatter." But after reading this, it's unclear what is even going on, as it would be an understatement to call her unhinged.
As of writing this, she is still vying for a seat on the board of supervisors, and considering it's Minnesota, don't be surprised if she wins.
