Kamala Harris is getting so desperate the media is cyberbullying Taylor Swift into endorsing her (Update: Hey, it worked)

America isn't feeling the "joy" or "vibes" that an army of PR professionals has created to be Kamala Harris's personality. The plan to send Donald Trump to jail hasn't worked out for the Democrats. In desperate need of a scapegoat, the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) are turning to Taylor Swift. Variety is shaming her, saying that if she doesn't endorse, it will mean she's entering a "new era." Ten bucks say the article was written with the "encouragement" of Team Kamala. It would be par for the course.
For the record, at no point did I ever think Taylor Swift and I voted for the same people. I'm a conservative who lives in a deep blue state. If you're in the entertainment industry, assuming you and I have different political opinions is my default position. It is what it is. Just don't be a dick about it.
The demand of Taylor Swift to validate the worldview of a niche audience of progressive whackadoodles (who make up 98% of the media) dates back to 2016 when she didn't endorse Hillary Clinton and serious journalismers questioned if the popstar had a right to keep her opinions to herself. Taylor also never called for a cease-fire in Palestine. Nor did she speak out about train derailment in Palestine, Ohio. But I don't think that one counts.
The pop star over-confiscated around 2019, going all-in on woke politics with a Netflix documentary and saying dumb shit like that no one has rights "who isn't a straight white cisgender male." Then the pandemic happened. She went back to focusing on music and decided doing marathon four-hour concerts across the globe (something else progressives cry about) was more enjoyable.
The overcompensation is where Varietydoing a journalism comes in. They demand Tay Tay overcompensate more better than she's doing.
And while it may yet happen — her 2020 endorsement was in early October — her signaling that silence is a preferable option, and her high-profile friendship with Mahomes, are at least suggestive, given how little Swift does by accident. Given, though, how much mileage Swift got in the past out of her decision to speak out on politics, the idea that she will remain silent would seem to make her past speaking out, at a more convenient moment, appear cynical. It’d be regrettable if her engagement with the world of politics were just another of her eras, and one from which she were willing to move on.
It's almost as insane as the Brittany Mahomes drama. Swifties (or a handful of them on X-Twitter) demanded she cancel Manhomes because she liked a Trump meme. Then, they celebrated Tay Tay for not sitting with Brittany at a football game. Then they cried when Taylor hugged Brittany at the US Open. Remember, gals, fresh air is your friend.
If anything is cynical, it's the Variety article. Again, the Harris camp is all about creating an image of Kamala Harris that claims she is something she isn't (likable, competent, etc.). There's no reason to believe this wasn't planted by Team Kamala any more than to believe TMZ "got it wrong" when they reported Beyonce was going to be at the DNC. That's journalisming. A lot of Democrats say, "Write this for us," and journalismers say, "Sure, we have no self-respect."
There is a clear campaign to shame and bully Taylor Swift into endorsing Kamala Harris. Which, besides reeking of Kamala's desperation, is also dumb politically. If and when she receives the coveted Swift endorsement (that she'd probably get anyway), it will look like Taylor is endorsing under duress.
UPDATE
Hey, looks like it worked! In the most enthusiastic, just checking off a box, endorsement you can give someone. You generally don't tell people, "do your own research and make up your own mind" when you want people to support your candidate.
Well, in a SHOCKING SURPRISE Taylor Swift has endorsed Kamala Harris after the debate. She says she’s researched her policies. I’d like to know where she found them in order to research them. pic.twitter.com/nXVdbzbQ81

1. It's not like Springsteen endorsing Obama, who then did rallies with him.
2. It was the most generic "I'm doing this to check a box" endorsement I've seen.
3. "Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make" isn't something you say when you are enthusiastically supporting a candidate.
