Public school teachers, generally speaking, are terrible. There’s an obvious exception for the few that aren’t, but this is a good general rule. They have failed students and really couldn’t care any less about it. But they’ve recently expanded, deciding that it isn’t enough to ensure students grow up stupid, they want everyone to be uninformed.

Red State reports that in a letter dated May 4, 2022, to trustees of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the union president Randi Weingarten suggests a proposal to force new oversight of Meta’s (Facebook) fact-checking, proposing an “independent law firm” which would evaluate Meta’s ability to police what Facebook whistleblowerFrances Haugen called “divisive and extreme messages.”

As it turns out, the AFT maintains $6.3B worth of Meta stock holdings and isn’t afraid to toss around that weight to censor opinions they don’t like.

However, this isn’t the first effort by teachers’ unions to silence dissenting opinions. The National Education Association (NEA) has been pressuring Facebook and other platforms to censor critics of Critical Race Theory for some time. The AFT teamed up with a left-wing “fact-checking” firm to censor what information students access.

The teachers’ unions know exactly what they’re doing. They’d rather parents not pay any attention to it, though. And if they do, they say people are attempting to start a war.

Parents need to know what’s going on, though. This is important. Teachers’ unions work for the teachers, so what they are doing and what they are saying is what public-school teachers want to be done and said. These are the people who are “teaching” your children. These are the people who are so obviously in bed with the left, working together to ensure your children only learn what they want them to learn and ensure no one is allowed to speak out about anything.
