There's been a lot of handwringing and nitpicking over everyone's statements against the domestic terrorism committed by white nationalists in Charlottesville yesterday, and whether so and so's statement is strong enough.

Try Ted Cruz's on for size.

It's tragic and heartbreaking to see hatred and racism once again mar our great Nation with bloodshed. Heidi's and my prayers are with the loved ones of those killed and injured in the ongoing violence in Charlottesville. The First Amendment protects the rights of all Americans to speak their minds peaceably, but violence, brutality, and murder have no place in a civilized society.

The Nazis, the KKK, and white supremacists are repulsive and evil, and all of us have a moral obligation to speak out against the lies, bigotry, anti-Semitism, and hatred that they propagate. Having watched the horrifying video of the car deliberately crashing into a crowd of protesters, I urge the Department of Justice to immediately investigate and prosecute this grotesque act of domestic terrorism.

These bigots want to tear our country apart, but they will fail. America is far better than this. Our Nation was built on fundamental truths, none more central than the proposition “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Ted pretty much has it all summed up. No matter which side of the political aisle you might find yourself on, we can all pretty much agree that vehicular homicide is a major douche move. So, bring on the charges and let's send this white-supremacizing dickweed to trial.

I doubt you'd see the same from leftist politicians if the throttle-mashing shoe was on the other foot. Oh wait! That's already happened. Black Lives Matter buttmunches call for genocide against whites and get their violence on at protests all the time. Yet, leftists still haven't disavowed them. But, the moment one of these psycho Nazi cosplayers goes Death Race 2000 on innocent pedestrians? Every conservative in America is complicit. Go figure.

Good on Teddy-boy for taking a stand against radicalism. Extremists are bad news for either side. Right or left, there's never a justifiable reason to spread your message with the violences. There's zero difference between this crowd-plowing asshat and your typical detonator-happy Islamic fangirl.

Hopefully, the justice system will make an example of this clown and discourage other violent violence-doers from further violence.
