Ted Cruz Impersonating 'The Princess Bride?' As You Wish...
Ted Cruz is probably going to have a long day today because of a comment he made regarding the Colorado Shooter that leftists are taking grossly out of context. Because, well, one does...
So instead of piling on (especially since we kinda like Ted Cruz)we give you this instead. Ted Cruz impersonating the Princess Bride.
He’s quoted "Jerry Maguire," "The Usual Suspects" and "Scarface" on the campaign trail, but it's clear, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz loves "The Princess Bride" the most.At a church service today in Des Moines, Iowa, the presidential hopeful was prodded by the pastor of Christian Life Assembly of God to offer an impression from his favorite movie. It didn't take much prodding.
"I will confess to knowing an awful lot of that movie," Cruz said. Cruz has previously said it's his favorite movie.
This is interesting, because the biggest knock on Ted Cruz is that he has to appeal outside of the tea party and far-right conservatives. That he can't connect with middle of the road voters. This "The Princess Bride" and even the regular dropping of film references, while it may seem mundane, could prove pretty dang important to making him a little more relatable.
I've talked with him about that at length (as seen below). I only hope that his handlers are honest with him in his shortcomings and able to recognize the improvements necessary. Very rarely do you find Conservatives who think Cruz is an unprincipled man, or someone unfit for the Oval Office. Questions only arise as to his electability. Things like this help.
But Ted Cruz like you've never seen him before? Hardly. THIS is Ted Cruz like you've never seen him before...
