Senator Ted Cruz spoke out about today's Santa Fe shooting. He offered all the common senses.

Texas has seen too many of these. We’ve seen deranged murderers, whether this morning here, whether a deranged bomber in Austin murdering innocent people, or whether six months ago in Sutherland Springs, another evil criminal murdering innocent people.

I tell the people in Santa Fe, you are being lifted up by millions of people in prayer from across the state of Texas and across the world. In the public policy arena, we need to do everything humanly possible to stop this from happening. Stop them from getting firearms. Stop them from getting access to schools. And incarcerate them when they try to illegally purchase firearms.

Preventing access to schools is the big one. Becuase schools are easier to get into than Amy Schumer. Unfortunately, the most vocal advocate of school security seems to be Snoop Dogg's former bodyguard (see Snoop Dogg’s Former Bodyguard, Tyrus: Protect Schools with Veterans and Snoop Dogg’s Former Bodyguard, Tyrus: Build the Wall…Around Schools). This isn't a knock on Tyrus. He's spot on. I just wish more leaders were making a serious push on actual security measures which didn't infringe on Second Amendment rights. As opposed to "I SAW GOODY PROCTOR WITH THE NRA." Which solves nothing. Other than exposing even more idiots.

We'll see what the next few weeks bring. Remember, the president still hasn't gotten involved. And who knows where that would go. Let's hope Trump keeps Twitter rants to a minimum.
