Jimmy Kimmel Tries to Stump Cruz on ObamaCare. He Loses...
He doesn't get enough credit for it, but Ted Cruz is actually VERY good when it comes to mainstream, non-political interviews (See Well Done: Ted Cruz Gives Perfect Answer to TMZ about College… and Ted Cruz Takes on “Pampered” Whiny College Students with Adam Carolla…). Last night it was Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he was funny and personable, while still staying zoning in on the issues when required...
The Republican candidate called the Affordable Care Act a 'disaster' and stated US law enforcement must do all it can to protect the country from radicalization. But the ABC late-night show host was quick to make his counter opinions heard and stated he had never heard anyone refer to Obamacare as disastrous.KIMMEL: Is it really a disaster, because I don't know that is?
Ted Cruz went on to laser in on the cold, hard ramifications of the "Affordable Care Act."
TED CRUZ: 'Over and over again I have people coming up to me saying that "my premiums have gone up, they've doubled, they've tripled, I'd have to cancel my health insurance because I can't afford it"... I have never done one of those round tables where at least half the small-business owners didn't list Obamacare as the single biggest challenge they're facing.'
A wise man once said, "Now is a time for choosing." Also, Ted Cruz is right. As we've written about on the site multiple times.
Not only has "Obamacare" led to massive unemployment as well as shifting more full-time workers to part-time work than ever in recent history (see Hillary Clinton admit that here). But it is an undeniable fact that premiums have skyrocketed an average 49% for the American worker. What do they get for said higher premiums? Often double or triple their previous deductibles. The numbers are undeniable.
The fact that Jimmy Kimmel was so blissfully unaware proves Ted's point in that, yes, Hollywood millionaires who tell us to vote Democrat are entirely ignorant to the real-world, economic ramifications. It's for that same reason that many Democratic politicians themselves ensured that their constituency got a "waiver" from Obamacare (Watch "Anthony Wiener Gets Obamacare Waiver" here). See, they knew the crippling costs and voted for it anyway, as long as they didn't have to take part in the mandate.
Kimmel is wrong, Cruz is right. It's that simple. Oh and you know who else saw this coming? Everyone who's ever experienced socialized healthcare. Watch below.
