Sitting in a hearing Ted Cruz is our favorite Ted Cruz (see Ted Cruz Delivers Best Performance Yet at Climate Change Hearing and Ted Cruz Destroys DHS Secretary Over ‘Systematic Scrubbing’ of Radical Islam). We were expecting awesome from the Gorsuch hearing. The Texas senator didn't disappoint. Democrats have been wanting to tie the nominee to every dumb thing the current President does. And tweets.

Cruz points out the hypocrisy there...

“In the past weeks as well, some of my Democratic colleagues have questioned Judge Gorsuch’s independence. Suggested that he needs to answer questions about the actions and statements and even the tweets of the president who appointed him. I would ask, was Justice Ginsburg or Justice Breyer, asked about the sexual harassment that had been filed against president Clinton by Paula Jones. No, neither was asked about that lawsuit.”

"Was Justice Kagan asked about President Obama’s incendiary comments at the State of the Union attacking the Supreme Court for a decision he disagree with? No of course not. Those questions were not asked because they were inappropriate political questions that have nothing to do with the record of the nominee before this committee."

The Democrats would likely tell you the reason they asked these inane questions of Gorsuch was the "seriousness of the charge," and "all the people have a right to know this thing about this other thing that this other Republican said that one time." It's a replay of Democrats are Hacks Volume Two. But the real reason Democrats are trying to tie Gorsuch to random Republicans the Democrats no likey is because the rules don't apply to Democrats. They never have. Democrats lie knowing the media will swear by it. So it has been since Biden and Kennedy first borked Bork (Wikipedia it, kids).

Thankfully, we finally have conservatives like Ted Cruz who are publicly calling them out on it. It's a delightful display, one we put on repeat when we're hit with a case of the sadz which cat videos cannot satisfy.

If we don't call Democrats out on their bull, they'll try to get away with anything. Including taking away our free speech rights under the guise of feelings.
