Jack Black Cancels Tour After Trump Shooting Comments

If it were up to Jack Black, he would have you vote against your self-interest. He also contributes to the rhetoric that created the atmosphere possible for a Trump assassination attempt. But he does not care about that, so much so that he thinks this whole thing is funny enough to joke about.
Kyle Gass, Black's bandmate in Tenacious D made a wish on stage in Sydney and hoped that the shooter does not “miss Trump next time.” And although a bunch of woke, Australian fools thought that was funny, Americans were unanimously on the side of sanity. Subsequently, Black canceled the rest of their tour because he could only take so much political embarrassment in such a short amount of time.

You don’t have to be a Trump supporter to know that that is not funny.
According to CNN:
The exchange prompted a call from one Australian lawmaker for the band to be deported from the country.

“I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” he added. “After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”
Gass apologized for the comment in a post on Instagram on Tuesday“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone,” wrote Gass.
“What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.
Gass likely regrets saying it because of the backlash, not because he is actually sorry, as we can almost be certain he would not make that sort of "joke" about Biden.
There is nothing worse than rich, out-of-touch celebrities talking about politics as if they know something, so much so that they end up making jokes about assassination attempts. But how can they think that's even remotely funny?
Question: Does Black still think democracy is at stake? Or was that something he made up because the Biden campaign got him to help fundraise? And for the record, anyone who goes to Black for political advice should be barred from voting forever.
Gass and Black made their beds and now they must sleep in it. However, it's a bit too late. But I guess we shouldn't have expected anything more from a bunch of liberal musicians claiming to be in favor of democracy while joking about third-world style, undemocratic, assassination attempts.
Gass and Black will not likely come out as better people after this debacle, and, likely, they are just waiting for things to settle down. But it's nice to see them get a taste of their own medicine.
