I'm the first to admit blaming the media is an easy knee-jerk reaction. It's an even easier reaction when the press is comprised of pompous nutsack jerks. So overwhelmed with their own magnificence, you want to knee them in the babymakers. I'll enter their reporting on immigration if it pleases the court (see The TRUTH About the Trump Mural at the Migrant Detention Center and Video: Democrat Admits Obama Administration Covered Up Child Migrant Crisis). Most of the stuff your friends are arguing about on social media is based on fecal reporting. To be charitable. I would never accuse the press of lying. But they do have a habit of reporting invalid truths. Especially when it comes to illegal immigration.

Members of the press go straight from zero to butthurt at the speed of a Trump tweet. And no, I don't think the media at large is as terrible as many on the right believe it is.

Though you'd think they'd try to suck less instead of proving the right's point about them constantly.

Thing is, when there's a narrative at stake, the media can't help themselves. They're like toddlers told not to touch a hot surface. Something is compelling them to harm themselves by continuing to spread their narrative more than truth. Everyone is getting hurt. At some point, they need to just stop and have mommy cut their meat for them.
