Texas Synagogue Terrorist Has Criminal Record and Rants About 9/11. U.S. Officials Let Him Travel to New York
We're starting to learn more about Malik Faisal Akram. Akram is the man with a British accent who took hostages in Texas over the weekend. The hostages were in a building Akram chose at random. Turns out, it was a religious building where people were practicing religion. Those people happened to be Jewish. We were told the two things were unrelated. We were also told the prisoners were "released," although, we're now finding out the prisoners had to escape and fight their way out. We were told a lot. The Telegraph is telling us a lot more.
Malik Faisal Akram has a criminal record dating back to 1996 when he attacked a family member with a baseball bat. He served three prison sentences. There's also the regular ranting about 9/11. Akram was still given a tourist visa by U.S. officials after lying on his visa application. Those same U.S. officials refused to confirm or deny to The Telegraph a report that Akram was on a terror watch list.
To be fair to U.S. Officials, they've been busy lately. There are parents who raise their voices at meetings that need to be investigated as domestic terrorists. Between that and their focus on a protest that turned into a riot, they are stretched thin. U.S. Officials can only be expected to do so much. So they ignored all the red flags for one foreign national? It's not like anyone died.
Akram entered New York on a tourist visa where red flag after red flag was ignored. He then traveled to Texas where he took hostages in a synagogue, demanding the release of Aafia "Lady al Qaeda" Siddiqui, who is in prison for attempting to murder U.S. servicemembers.
By the grace of God, no one was killed. Well, no one except Akram, but he was asking for it. This could have had a much more tragic ending. And another example of U.S. Officials dropping the ball.
