President Obama, like most leftists, always seem to have the same luck when it comes to negotiating between Israel and Palestine. They try to insult, bully, and shame Israel into giving in. Israel, of course, says no. For reasons which are perfectly obvious to anyone with access to a map of the region. In turn, leftists say Israel is a bad country. I may be simplifying just a tad, but no I'm not (see here, here, and here).

Obama's comments yesterday are memorable not because, like all presidents before him, he's trying to make a deal between the two warring factions. No, it's memorable because of the excuse he gave. Just when we thought he couldn't get any more moronic (read Obama at SXSW: Your phones shouldn't be off limits), Obama said Israel is too rich.

President Barack Obama conceded Wednesday that a two-state solution to bring peace between the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority won’t happen under his administration — and claimed that the failure was, at least in part, due to Israel’s continued economic success.

The admission came during a town hall forum in Argentina, when Obama told the crowd that “because Israeli society has been so successful economically, it has, I think, from a position of strength, been less willing to make concessions” to the Palestinians.

“On the other hand, the Palestinians, because of weakness, have not the political cohesion and organization to enter into negotiations and feel like they can get what they need — and so both sides just go to their separate corners,” Obama continued.

Yep, Israel is too successful. Those words came out of our President's mouth. If only Israel was a  weaker nation, then things would be so much simpler. Nay, fairer. If only they had no choice but to bend to Palestine's will. They should just play "by the rules." By losing. That's the right thing to do, according to Barack The Worst Mediator of All Time Obama. Anyone being successful, anyone being a winner, even a nation which is completely surrounded by Islamic nations which want to see Israel obliterated from the planet, is unfair.

So really, Obama is being completely consistent. His statements shouldn't come as a surprise. If you've been paying attention, you've probably already noticed that leftists like Obama have a very specific set of rules. They go as follows: if you're successful by any means, you must pay for it, you greedy bastards. For the good of his wallet the people. Even if that means, Oh Israel, you're wiped from the face of the earth.
