Funny. TiKTok hires a powerful leftist lobbying firm and donates money to Democrat non-profits and Ta-Da! Democrat congresspeople are out there defending TikTok and singing TikTok's talking points. Long story short, TikTok is at most just as bad as every other social media app, but those apps are all worse.

That was Rep. AOC's message when she joined the app just to simp for the app. Her Squad colleague Rep. Jamaal Bowman made the mistake(?) of saying the quiet part out loud. Sure, the Communist Chinese government maaaaaay be spying on Americans and using the algorithm to attack our youth. But the alternative could cost Democrats the 2024 election.

The United States congress -- where Bowman works -- banned the app on all federal government devices. The Biden Administration gave all government agencies thirty days to delete the app from their devices. Why? OVER. SECURITY REASONS. So has, Canada, the European Union, India, and Taiwan. Bytedance, the company that owns TikTok, swears it does not share data with China or store it there. The flip side to that is, we don't believe you.

But while it's not safe for government employees to use the app for security reasons, you and your children? Meh. Let China (allegedly) spy on you. If they are prevented from doing so, zoomer influencers might lash out and not vote for Democrats.

That's what elected officials care about. It's not you. It's sure as hell not your children. It's their reelection chances.
