Far Left Apple CEO to Wage War on 'Fake News'. Misses HUGE Irony...
As much as we (sort of) appreciate Tim Cook for fighting government overreach... We've had to call him out for his wrongness quite a few times (read Dear Tim Cook: Your Hypocrisy on LGBT Issues is Deplorable...). In a recent interview he made a pledge against fake news and detailed how tech giants should band together to fight against it. Hopefully not by way of censorship, as seems to be the MO (watch Video Slams YouTube Over Newest Censorship Plot).
Of course, we agree that misinformation is a problem. But conveniently, Cook forgot to mention the source of the majority of said fake news...
Although the election is over, the problem of fake news isn't. Apple CEO Tim Cook said it's time to do something about it. "All of us technology companies need to create some tools that help diminish the volume of fake news," Cook said in an interview..."There has to be a massive campaign," Cook said. [He] says that the proliferation of fake news is "killing people's minds.
"Too many of us are just in the complain category right now and haven't figured out what to do," he said. "We need the modern version of a public-service announcement campaign. It can be done quickly if there is a will. We are going through this period of time right here where unfortunately some of the people that are winning are the people that spend their time trying to get the most clicks, not tell the most truth," Cook said.
The interwebs and misinformation tend to go together like feminists and thunder thighs. It's a problem on both sides. Still, we've noticed a bit of a pattern. Fake news has been consistently, majorly propagated by the left... But they won't own up to it. In fact, here's a brief list...
- LOL: WaPo Demands You Stop Calling Out 'Fake News' After it Backfired on Them.
- Donald Trump Body Slams BuzzFeed, CNN Over For Fake Russian 'Report'...
- WaPo Caught Falsely Accusing Russia of 'Hacking US Power Grid'

See, Tim is interested in squelching fake stories. But he leaves the parameters of fakeness rather ambiguous. He hasn't traced the genesis of why people feel the need to indulge in misinformation. Possibly because that would be inconvenient for the leftist narrative. The left likes "fake news" because real news, real facts, and real data don't further their agenda.
So, will Tim Cook reference any of the stories above in his quest against falsehoods? Methinks not...
