Tim Scott Unloads on Racist Attacks. Coming from Leftists!
Being a black man from the South in America, you would assume Tim Scott has heard his share of racist remarks, what with leftists being as hateful and intolerant as they are toward people who are other than them (see HUFFPO WRITER MAKES TAX REFORM ABOUT RACE. SENATOR TIM SCOTT SHUTS HIM DOWN! and OUCH: SENATOR TIM SCOTT PUTS RACIST LIBERALS TO SHAME ON SENATE FLOOR...). So the senator was not in the mood when the same old attacks started getting thrown at him as he stepped out to lead on the police reform everyone says we need.
Again, for the left, not even all black lives matter. Only the ones they can score political points off of. If you have a higher degree of melanin but the wrong political opinion, suddenly the wokest among us all sound like Robert Byrd. Unlike Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Scott doesn't need to put on a Wakandan dashiki to signal that he's concerned about the African-American community.
Dunking on leftists aside, Scott's perspective is one I think some of us on the right can stand to hear as well. The word "racism" gets thrown around so easily that it starts to sound like just another leftist talking point, like "the science is settled." Yet I have a number of conservative friends who are also black who are more conservative than I am and have not found things racial that I thought were racial. Yet all have had some form of "that talk" with their kids that their parents had with him. To say there isn't a disconnect is dishonest. Maybe not as prevalent as the left wants it to be, but it's still there. Conversations fix that.
Also, having leftists as a common enemy.
