If you're still defending Elizabeth Warren after it was revealed she's as much a Cherokee as Hillary Clinton is a cuddly muffin of a granny, you may be a culturally appropriating racist enabler. Like Time Magazine. Which released an article titled "Elizabeth Warren's DNA Test Shows How She's Weaponizing Transparency" without a whiff of irony. Here's an excerpt:

In revealing the results of a DNA test of her ancestry this week, Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren showed just how far she would go to rebut Trump’s repeated and baseless claim that she lied about having Native American ancestry to get ahead in academia.

But it wasn’t the only move she’s made to be more open.

The remainder of the article defends Elizabeth Warren for being transparent in contrast to Trump who, according to Time, isn't. Cute.

Time essentially says "Warren is honest because she released her DNA report, but Trump is a liar because he keeps his taxes a secret." I'd have to look it up, but pretty sure Time just fell into a non sequitur.

Key differences: pretending to be a race you're so clearly not is much different than filing for certain deductions, then wanting to keep those filings private. In fact, pretending to be a race which you are not is verboten in the commandments of the social justice war tablets. Yet Time, and their media compadres, refuse to call Warren out for her gross, racist cultural appropriation. Hiding behind non-released tax filings as some kind of excuse.

Warren didn't weaponize transparency. Warren pretended to be that which she never has been (more on that below). The only thing Warren has weaponized is the media bias in her favor. Like Time Magazine writing a headline suggesting she's transparent, read "honest." So low information voters on the left, many of whom get most of their news by reading just the headline, or watching Trevor Noah, continue to believe Warren is Native American, Warren has been honest, Warren took it to Trump. Resist!

Time's article is the epitome of "fake news" and how fake news works. Take a story, in this case Warren took a DNA test, released it, and showed "See, I have [between 1/64th to 1/1024th] Indian DNA [which isn't actually from the United States region] so I'm totally a Native American!" and the news ran with it. Fake news. Fake news to promote an agenda: Re-elect Warren, Trump sucks.

Warren knew media would have her feathered headdress. Her strategy relied upon the perpetuation of fake news to push her agenda. Time just illustrated it with their transparent article on transparency.
