Todd Rundgren Wants to Ban 'Humorless' Trump Supporters from Concerts. Misses HUGE Irony...
Another anti-Trump whiner has reared his greying head (see Lena Dunham Blames Her Weight Loss on… Donald Trump and Sexism and Liberal Filmmaker Joss Whedon Thinks… Trump Will Start Killing Gays)! This time you're likely asking yourself, "What is a Todd Rundgren?" Unless you were cruising the turnpike looking to pick up chicks at the rec center in 1972, the name means nothing to you. But, apparently he still performs live. And if you find yourself at a bar when he takes the stage and you happen to be a Trump supporter, feel free to kindly escort yourself out.
Because according to a recent interview...
“If I had the power, I'd say: If you're a Trump supporter, don't come to my show. I don’t understand your frickin’ values. Because I’m not singing about that. If you don’t understand that basic thing, you’re just fooling yourself. I guarantee that in this show, if you’re a Trump supporter, you will likely be offended. Let the buyer beware! I mean, if you can’t take a joke, or you can’t admit that you’ve made a mistake, you don’t belong with the rest of us.”
In other words; "If I had the power to discriminate against my fans I would. But they're in short supply and I need the cash. These hair plugs aren't gonna pay for themselves." Not everyone can afford to throw a tantrum of Amy Schumer-esque proportions... So instead Todd opted to bitch about Trump supporters juuuust a little.
The worst line from this interview? "If you can't take a joke, or you cant admit that you made a mistake, you don't belong with the rest of us." Because the second part has zero to do with the first part. Being able to take a joke and "admitting a mistake" are two different things. One is humor, the other is regret. Which many of us don't have.
These things may seem obvious, but they're lost on the ole Rundgren. It's likely he's put his noggin through one too many ragers. But this is also part of an ongoing pattern with the left. A pattern that's been heavily doused in irony. Liberals accuse their counterparts of being too uptight to take a joke, meanwhile demanding that anybody who disagrees with them take a hike off a plane mid-flight. In fact, the left is the party demanding consequences for those who tell jokes they don't like.
So tell me, who is it that truly has a stick lodged up their colon? Because it smells rather obvious...
