Tonight Show Cameramen Claim They Were 'Fired Because They're White'
Group text messages are literally Hitler. I don't know if a not person can literally be Hitler, but groups texts are the exception. There's nothing worse. Except for having to fight Amy Schumer over the last danish at a breakfast buffet. But, in the case of these two "Tonight Show" cameramen, a group text is cause for being fired?
According to this lawsuit, apparently so.
Two white NBC cameramen claim that The Tonight Show bandleader Questlove had them fired for just receiving an unsolicited racist text - while a black staffer who got the same message was allowed to remain. Kurt Decker and Michael Cimino have filed a $2 million lawsuit, obtained by DailyMail.com, against NBC and Questlove alleging they were fired 'on the basis of the color of their skin.'Mark Kelley, who is African American and a bassist for The Roots - Jimmy Fallon's house band led by drummer Questlove - also received the offensive message. Decker and Cimino, who were filming when they received the message, said in the suit they were 'shocked to receive it and repulsed by its content.' They immediately informed their superiors.
The two white camera operators were suspended the next day, the suit states, yet Kelley was not.
Maybe this is overcompensation for Jimmy Fallon singlehandedly getting Donald Trump elected (see Donald Trump Makes ‘Yuuuge’ Tonight Show Appearance and Politics 2016: Fallon Messes Up Trump’s Hair on Tonight Show). Mayhaps this is the "Today Show's" way back into the good graces of the left. But let's break things down. All of this is alleged, of course.
- Two honkies get a racially-charged text message WHILE FILMING THE SHOW.
- As soon as the show was over, they report it to their bosses.
- The black band leader gets involved.
- ????????
This makes about as much sense as Kevin Spacey running a daycare center. It would be one thing if the cameramen sent the racist text. Or laughed about it hysterically before forwarding to their friends. But, these guys did none of that. Again, allegedly. They were offended by what they saw and promptly reported it to H.R. Then, they got told to hit the bricks?
On what planet is that normal?
