In the wake of Las Vegas, we've heard from a lot of celebrity opportunists and other leftist ignoramuses about the evils of the boomsticks. Well, it's time for a palette cleanse. Let's hear from some who isn't a complete dunce. Trey Gowdy, folks.

"We already have controls on what kind of guns you can have, where you can have them, when you can use them and what individuals can possess even a single bullet. So the question to me is whether or not current controls are adequate and there are two fundamental questions that you should put your finger on. What law had it existed at the time would have prevented this mass killing or another mass killing. What law, but for its lack of implementation could have prevented this. That's one question. The other question is, among all the panoply of current gun laws, how are we doing enfocing them?"

Nah, that takes too much work. Let's just blame silencers.

Trey's right. Before congress even thinks about passing new gun control legislation, they should look into whether those laws would work in the first place. The answer, of course, is no. But, leftists aren't about to let that get in the way of their anti-blaster crusade.

We'll often hear leftists talk about "common sense gun reform." Which sounds innocuous when you first hear it. But, like every other thing leftists say, you have to read between the lines and bulls**t. "Common sense gun reform" is actually leftistspeak for "BAN ALL THE GUNS, NOW!"

Leftists can't answer Trey Gowdy's questions, and they won't even attempt to try. That's why we are where we are in this debate. The left doesn't care if gun regulations work or if they're implemented properly. The only thing that matters to them is the evil, child-killing lead-slingers are a little bit closer to illegal.

Because everyone knows the founders wrote the 2nd amendment for muskets only...
