CROWDER: Donald Trump VS. E. Jean Carroll is the most f*cked up verdict ever!
The E. Jean Carroll suit may be one of the most corrupt trials in this nation’s history. Today's show breaks it down.
"There are a lot of people who believe Donald Trump just got punished because he sexually assaulted a woman. Just like they believe it was proven he slept with Stormy Daniels when the opposite was proven and she was owed his legal fees,” Crowder said.
Donald Trump was ordered to pay over $83 million to E. Jean Carroll over remarks he made about her. Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled last year that Trump defamed Carroll in 2019, in which he said “I’ve never met this person in my life. She is trying to sell a new book—that should indicate her motivation. It should be sold in the fiction section,” according to POLITICO.
“The defamation is that Donald Trump said he didn’t bang her,” Crowder said. “There is a conflict of interest here at play and that is a problem. This is where you end up with a banana republic. It’s not if you have laws in the country; it’s if the law applies equally.”
Caroll said she was going to use the defamation money to get a completely new wardrobe, a motorcycle, a penthouse, and more.
Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba has subsequently demanded the details over a conflict of interest the judge may have had with Carroll’s lead counsel.
“As a result of a story published in the New York Post, defense counsel learned for the first time of allegations that Your Honor, while a partner at the Paul Weiss firm, had a “mentor” type relationship with Plaintiff’s lead counsel, Roberta Kaplan,” Habba wrote in a letter to the judge.
"This issue is particularly concerning since Plaintiff’s other lead counsel, Shawn Crowley, served as Your Honor’s law clerk, and we were previously advised that Your Honor co-officiated her wedding," she added.
There are many cases where people believe something happened that never occurred. Such as the ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ lie, in which that never actually happened. The investigation concluded that the officer was assaulted by Michael Brown. Another one that is believed by many is that Nixon ordered the break-in and that he tried to cover it up.
"This happens all the time and it is collusion between a complicit media and a judicial system that really is not all that interested, in many cases, in administering justice," Crowder said.
