Trump Dresses Down NATO: "Pay Your Fair Share!"
Foreign policy Trump is my favorite Trump. He may not be an egg-shell stepping diplomacy wizard, but that's why he's fantastic when addressing the globalist gangsters of the UN. Or in this case, NATO. Cover your bulbous behinds, losers:
We're protecting Germany, we're protecting France, we're protecting all of these countries. Then numerous of the counties go out and make a pipeline deal with Russia where they're paying billions of dollars into the coffers of Russia. So, we are supposed to protect you against Russia.
Bingo. Germany, France, and other European countries are looking down their wine-sniffing noses at us, while they provide a myriad of social programs for their citizens. Meanwhile, America foots their massive defense bill. As Germany shovels money to Russia for gas. Isn't that lovely.
It's very unfair to our country, it's very unfair to our taxpayers. And I think that these countries have to step it up not over a 10 year period— they have to step it up immediately.
Diplomats and leftists (the Venn diagram overlaps "greatly" as Trump might say) love to talk about "fairness" and specifically how people need to pay into fairness. Mostly the rich. Well, how is it fair that America has to defend these countries? What, exactly, is America gaining from delivering tanker loads of taxpayer dollars in order to defend these nations? Because from where I sit, and looks like from where Trump sits, Europe is reaping all the rewards, and all America is stuck with the bill. A giant, middle finger shaped bill.
If European nations want to pay Russia for gas, fine. But then America shouldn't be paying for their defense. At all. If we're paying to defend these countries, then America has skin in the game. If America continues to pay for the national defense of these countries, then we get to make some decisions. If they don't want us "interfering" with their defense and national policies, then we shouldn't interfere by paying for their defense.
No, it's not as nuanced as a diplomatic leftist will claim. This is very simple. Trump has a way of cutting through this bullcaca which I appreciate. Bigly.
