Watch: This is the real reason why egg prices skyrocketed (and why they are going down today)
The left won’t stop talking about the price of eggs. Today’s show breaks down who is to blame and it’s not Trump.
"President Trump cannot control bird flu any more than Biden could," Crowder said. “You can control how the government responds.”

“This all started under Biden,” Crowder said.
According to NBC:
The average price for a dozen eggs in the United States has jumped 50% in the past year, and the cost increase appears to have accelerated since November, the month Donald Trump was elected president, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In the week ending Jan. 18, a dozen yolks cost $5.29, a steep climb from February 2024, when the price was a little over $3.50 a dozen, data compiled by the NIQ consumer research group shows.
The chief reason for the price spike, economists and market analysts have said, is the highly infectious bird flu that has cut like a scythe through the chicken population and reduced egg supplies, along with strong consumer demand for eggs typical during the winter holiday season.
While this is partly to do with the Bird Flu, that does not fully explain it.
More than 13 million hens have been lost or slaughtered since December as a result of the bird flu outbreak, according to the Agriculture Department's latest Egg Markets Overview.
Elon Musk recently stated that the Biden Administration ordered "an insane slaughter of 150 million egg-laying chickens."
"There is an element of corporate greed at play here and it's only enabled by an all-powerful government that subsidizes them," Crowder said.
According to Food And Waterwatch:
Food corporations are blaming bird flu for higher prices, but egg producer Cal-Maine pocketed $1 billion in windfall profits before it saw a single outbreak.
Despite narratives blaming bird flu shortages for price hikes, Cal-Maine factory farms remained free of bird flu until December 2023. In fact, during the company’s fiscal year (FY) 2023, June 2022 through May 2023, it sold 7% more eggs compared to FY 2021. That same year, its profits soared more than seven-fold.
"They increased their prices way more than they needed to cover their cost," Crowder said.
Cal-Maine Foods “has received $44 million in indemnity payouts,” according to Sentient Media.
"Do you think that helps shut out other smaller farms?" Crowder said. "Anywhere you look at giant bailouts, you look at unbelievable inflation with a worse product."
According to ABC, the DOJ is also “looking into whether the major egg companies are sharing information about supply and pricing, possibly contributing to price increases.”
"They are never held accountable. They privatize profit and socialize their losses," Crowder said. "Donald Trump is the only one who said, 'Let's look into whether this is criminal behavior.'"
It’s unclear how all egg producers can jack up the price even though they are not all affected the same when it comes to bird flu.
"It is not a free market if they receive tens of millions of dollars in bailouts and other farms cannot compete. That is a big reason why you are paying these egg prices," Crowder said.
