The people of North Carolina should have had their worries settled by now, but the fact that the Biden administration barely even pretended to care speaks volumes as to how much they are still suffering. Trump should not have had to visit the state because it should have already been taken care of. However, because the Biden Administration put foreign nationals first, hurricane victims were slapped in their faces as many remain homeless.

This is why Trump has announced plans to reform FEMA.

According to Fox News:

Trump also promised to work with three of the lawmakers whose areas were affected by Hurricane Helene, claiming that FEMA was "not on the ball" in assisting North Carolina in the aftermath of the hurricane.

"So we’re going to be doing something on FEMA that I think most people agree [with]," Trump said. "I’d like to see the states take care of disasters, let the state take care of the tornadoes and the hurricanes and all of the other things that happen. And I think you’re going to find it a lot less expensive. You’ll do it for less than half, and you’re going to get a lot quicker response."

Trump said Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity that "Democrats don’t care about North Carolina" and that was why he would visit the state for his first official trip as president during his second term.

All of this should have already been taken care of, but the Dems could not care less, especially because these are people the establishment has deemed politically incorrect.

FEMA staffers were told to avoid helping Trump supporters in the same way they would ignore “vicious dogs.” That is how the bureaucracy saw these people, and more people need to be held accountable.

This response is something you would see from a third-world country, not the leaders of the free world. Despite one's political beliefs, everyone deserves to be helped and it's astonishing Americans were treated like this.

All of this is heartbreaking.

It's unfathomable that the government did not fulfill its most basic duties, and the media ignored these atrocities for far too long.

Fortunately, that is no longer the status quo, and we can almost be certain this will not happen again for at least four more years.
