• According to Trump, federal agents confiscated his passports: SOURCE: POSTMILLENNIAL
  • “Wow! In the raid by the FBI of Mar-a-Lago, they stole my three Passports (one expired), along with everything else.”
  • “This is an assault on a political opponent at a level never seen before in our Country. Third World!”

  • “DOJ slaps down Trump's claims that feds 'stole' three of his passports during Mar-a-Lago raid.”
• NOW: Justice Department officials are saying the passports have been returned: SOURCE: NBCNews
  • “The FBI acknowledged it had had the passports the same day Trump said on his social media platform that FBI agents who conducted the search on Aug. 8 took them.”
• So, they didn’t have them, but they gave them back?
• But the entire “investigation” has been inconsistencies and sleights of hand.

THEN: In the beginning, AG Garland allegedly had no clue about the raid on Trump. SOURCE: Newsweek

• NOW: Garland came out later that day to say he “personally approved” the warrant for the raid. SOURCE: RollingStone
  • Garland then said he would unseal the warrant if Trump agreed. SOURCE: Politico
  • Trump called his bluff. SOURCE: Politico
    • “Not only will I not oppose the release of documents [...] I am going a step further by encouraging the immediate release of those documents.”
  • But the warrant tells us nothing. SOURCE: USAToday
  • The affidavit would.
  • But the DOJ is actively fighting to keep the affidavit sealed. SOURCE: CNBC
    • Why?
    • The affidavit provides the justification for the raid.

    • “Two of the four court orders allowing the FBI to conduct secret national security surveillance on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page were not valid because the government made "material misstatements" in obtaining them”

ACADEMY APOLOGIZES TO LITTLEFEATHER

• The Academy apologized to Sacheen Littlefeather 50 years after she was booed for refusing Marlon Brando’s Oscar.
  • Littlefeather, speaking on Brando’s behalf, lamented the treatment of American Indians. SOURCE: Twitter

  • The event was in response to the killing of a Lakota man, Wesley Bad Heart Bull, by a white man, Darld Schmitz.
• There are conflicting reports of what led to the murder.
  • One source claimed that Schmitz intervened and stabbed Bad Heart after Bad heart knocked another man unconscious with a log chain. SOURCE: OnTheRezPG.144
  • But Bad Heart’s friends claims that he heard Schimtz say:
    • “He was going to kill him an Indian.”
  • However, in the two years before the incident, Bad Heart had been arrested 19 times, including for the assault of a police officer. SOURCE: TheObserver-Reporter
• Schmitz pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was released from jail after one day.
  • The American Indian Movement (AIM), descended on Wounded knee, SOURCE: BillOfRightsInstitute
    • “After fortifying the village, taking 11 people hostage and pillaging the small grocery store, AIM and its followers prepared for the worst.”
• The siege lasted 71 days.
  • Two Indian men were killed by snipers, and several more were wounded.
  • It was eventually resolved after the federal government agreed to investigate maltreatment and corruption.
