Trump Delivers Another Gift. Formally Repeals Obamacare Mandate...
Earlier today, the Donald put the finishing touches on the tax bill. But, that's not the only thing he did. There was another part of that bill that's equally as awesome. The Obamacare mandate that required you to buy insurance? Consider it deader than Kevin Spacey's dream of being a kiddie-show host.
President Trump on Friday declared Obamacare "over" as he signed the Republican tax bill that repeals the law's individual mandate penalties.Repeatedly describing as "unfair" the requirement that individuals who do not purchase insurance pay a fine, Trump said of eliminating the penalties, "Essentially, I think it ultimately leads to the end of Obamacare. I think Obamacare is over because of that."
He also reiterated his vow that "we're going to come up with something that's really going to be very good."
Lower taxes? No more gun to our heads, forcing us to enroll in Obamacare? The government out of the internet-regulating business? The good news just keeps on coming!
This news will no doubt send leftists rushing toward the nearest safe space. Into the paws of their service animals. Far away from the triggering freedom and the problematic monies. Their big-government ambitions and their god-king Obama's legacy are over. For now, at least. If I were them, I'd get used to it.
For the past decade, we've been inching closer toward socialism on the healthcare front. It hasn't been panning out the way leftists would have hoped. Now, thanks to this bill, the Trumpinator and Republicans have finally started pulling that U-turn and steering us back in the other direction. Maybe soon we can inject some free-marketism into healthcare.
