Turkish Fans Boo Moment of Silence, Chant 'Allahu Akbar'
I would say this is unbelievable, but to anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the Islamic world, the description would be inaccurate. As you watch this video of Turkey soccer fans booing during a moment of silence and chanting "Allahu Akbar," keep in mind that your President still thinks the real enemy is Republicans and other Americans who have a different opinion than him. Roll tape.
Chants of 'Allahu Akbar' were reportedly heard in Istanbul as some Turkey fans shamefully booed a pre-match minute's silence for the victims of the Paris attacks. The friendly itself against Greece was largely forgettable as the action finished 0-0 at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium.
But the game was tarnished before it even started as a video emerged suggesting some of the Turkish faithful were voicing their dissent towards tributes for the 129 victims who were killed in last Friday's atrocities in Paris.
This. Actually. Happened.
A few points here. This isn't just about a few people booing. This is about a mass of people so large, that their boo'ing drowned out the sounds of others in a SOCCER STADIUM AND WERE ABLE TO BE HEARD ON CAMERA.
Even more telling is that these people felt comfortable enough booing en masse in the first place. Here's the thing, a hateful minority, one condemned unilaterally by the Muslim world would not feel safe behaving this way.
Contrast, the Westboro Baptists (who the media loves to trot out as an example of "extreme Christians") find their chants regularly drowned out at funerals... by real Christians. And their membership barely numbers in the double digits. Their entire congregation's chants couldn't fill a thirtieth of just the nosebleed seats at a Soccer Stadium, let alone wash over camera microphones like a war-cry.
For this to be heard on camera, there had to be thousands of Turkish Muslims to boo a moment of silence for France. Thousands. Even more, thousands of Turkish muslims, unorganized, spontaneously booing. ISIS didn't roll up for a tailgate party. These are just everyday Turkish Muslims taking part in the terror-world's equivalent to "the wave."
Could you imagine any other religion booing during a moment of silence? After a terror attack? That was carried out in their religion's name? Of course not, because no other religions carried out terror attacks in this century.
And remember, Turkey is considered to be among the most "moderate" Islamic countries/state next to Malaysia and the UAE. Funny thing about "moderate Muslims" though...
Let me recap this in case you missed it:
Thousands of Turkish Muslims publicly boo'd the moment of silence for victims of the Paris attacks... in one of the most "moderate" Islamic countries in existence.
