But apparently some people on the left are not too thrilled that the world has one less piece of fecal matter rotting everything around him. Some are even showing signs of respect and mourning. Among them? The U.N. Human Rights Council. Human Rights. Human. Rights.

Delegates of the U.N. Human Rights Council opened a meeting in Geneva on Monday by standing silently with heads bowed, after the delegation of Venezuela’s leftist government requested a minute’s silence to “honor” the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Spokesmen for the HRC Secretariat and for U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein did not respond by press time to queries about the appropriateness of the minute’s silence for the leader of a communist regime with a grim human rights record.

Fidel Castro was one of the biggest human rights violators on this giant blueberry. Castro stripped his people of their basic freedom, imprisoned or killed anyone who disagreed with him, then possibly started the bearded hipster trend. Allegedly. But let's honor him with silence.

To most of us, Castro was a cigar-chomping fart-knocker with a pubic hair beard. To leftists, Fidel was a jolly bearded fellow who gave his people free stuff and taught the kids to read. I think progressives may be confusing Fidel with Santa Claus. Hint: Santa has reindeer. Fidel had the crushed skulls of his foes. Minor differences.

Left-wingers have gone out of their way to heap praise upon El Commandante (read Retired General Shames Justin Trudeau for Fangirling Over Fidel Castro and #BLM’s Latest Hero: Evil Dictator Fidel Castro!). Actual Cubans have been singing a different tune entirely..."Ding Dong, The Witch Is Dead." A tip for you leftists: it's better to take the word of people who actually lived under Castro over the word of spoiled brats at MSNBC who only theorize about communism. They haven't actually lived under it. Again, minor differences.

The U.N. is a useless institution run by a coalition of Rain Men. They're better off counting toothpicks than running the world.
