UAW Workers Feel Abandoned By Democratic Party, "Pro-Union" Biden Over His Electric Vehicle Agenda

United Auto Workers (UAW) members feel as though the Democratic Party abandoned them, as “the most pro-union president in history” places roadblocks in their way with handouts for the electric vehicle industry.
The UAW walked off the job after it failed to reach agreements with General Motors, Ford and Chrysler maker Stellantis.
This is the first time in history that a nationwide UAW strike is called simultaneously at General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis.
The Union says workers deserve a pay raise of 36% and is upset with the Biden administration and the Democratic Party for its subsidies to the electric vehicle industry, claiming that the rush is overlooking the security and protection of the American auto worker.
Former UAW President Bob King told Politico that "UAW members feel abandoned by the Democratic Party," saying that Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act has failed to help union workers. He further cited former President Bill Clinton's signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement as another reason.
“I think there’s a segment of the Democratic Party that sees itself as serving corporations rather than the common good. … We’ve had a lot of disappointments.”
According to Politico, most of the energy investments made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act are flowing away from Michigan and to more Republican-led states, such as Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. The Union is also concerned that it will lose members when companies invest even more into EVs as they usually have fewer parts than gas-powered cars.
The UAW is withholding an endorsement of Biden unless his administration gives assurances that union workers will be protected as the federal government pushes for higher EV production.
We should all despise unions as they are essentially labor cartels that help destroy the economy.
The Biden Administration pushing for 50% of all cars to be electric by 2030, will create enough widespread economic impacts as it is. We don’t need the union to inflate the market even more with a 36% increase in wages that they don’t even deserve.
But sorry UAW, this is all your fault since you voted for the man! But I love to see them eat their own.
Any gains made by these strikes and bargaining of wages will come at the cost of everyone else.
UAW members may eventually earn higher wages if they succeed in their demands, but everyone who buys a car will pay more, and some Americans will not even be able to afford a new car.
The automakers will subsequently hire fewer workers because they will make and sell fewer cars.
Essentially, they are the true enemies of the American autoworker.
The UAW is slowly losing its monopoly to the EV industry and now they are crying because Sleepy Joe is helping make that happen.
What on earth did they expect during his campaign? He made it very clear what his intentions were for the economy, and that definitely included more EVs and fewer gas-powered cars.
Sorry guys, but this is what you voted for!
